Dead by Daylight is not unfamiliar to hardcore gamers as it has already been available for Microsoft Windows OS for a year but today the game hits the Xbox One and PlayStation 4 consoles as well.
An asymmetrical horror/survival game, Dead by Daylight pits up to four “survivors” against one “killer” who is tasked with tracking down and eliminating them all. The gameplay takes place in several locations that are based on the place that the killer calls home.
For horror fans who were psyched at the opportunity to play as Jason Voorhees in Gun Media & IllFonic’s Friday the 13th: The Game, Dead By Daylight has jumped into the mix by adding Michael Myers and Laurie Strode as playable characters in the all-too-familiar setting of Haddonfield but currently only in the Windows version (more on that below).
According to Mathieu Cote of Behaviour Interactive, “it’s based on the original movie. Michael is the ultimate stalker. So as opposed to all the other killers that we have, Michael sees you and he watches you. So the power of Michael grows as he’s stalking you. And at some point he will be able to build up that meter, that power, until he becomes evil incarnate.”
While the Halloween DLC is active in the Microsoft Windows version of Dead by Daylight, it is not yet ready for the console but I’m sure that adding this huge feature is on their short list of things to do.
Check out a trailer below and keep it locked to Horror News Network for updates on when the Michael Myers character will be playable in the console version.
