Just a handful of days to go–and the hype intensifies.
The highly anticipated live-action Resident Evil series on Netflix–adapted from the popular Capcom horror survival video game–debuts this Thursday, July 14, and a revealing behind-the-scenes video was released that affords insights from the show’s cast and crew. The eight-episode series–from writer and showrunner Andrew Dabb (Supernatural)–takes place in the year 2036, some 14 years after a deadly virus caused a global apocalypse. Amid this disaster, Jade Wesker fights for survival “in a world overrun by bloodthirsty, infected, insane creatures,” according to the synopsis.
Through it all, Jade “is haunted by her past in New Raccoon City, by her father’s chilling connections to the Umbrella Corporation and by what happened to her sister Billie.”
The show stars Ella Balinska, Tara Smart, Siena Agudong, Adeline Rudolph, Paola Nunez, Ahad Raza Mir, Connor Gossatti, Turlough Convery and Lance Reddick as Albert Wesker.
Dabb has said he already knows how this show will eventually play out. “The truth of the matter is, we have an ending,” he revealed. “And we can progress fast or slow toward that ending. The longer we’re on the air, the more fun stuff we can do.”
