It’s time to break out the weapons.
Pedro Pascal–who has already made his mark on the genre with his role in The Last of Us–will headline Weapons, the next horror effort from writer/director Zach Cregger, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Cregger–the filmmaker behind last year’s surprise horror hit Barbarian–will helm this New Line Cinema feature that is scheduled to start shooting this fall. No release window has been announced.
The storyline for Weapons–produced by Cregger, Roy Lee, J.D. Lifshitz, Raphael Margules and Miri Yoon–is still under wraps, but it’s described as a “horror epic in the vein of Magnolia. It straddles thriller and horror–on a large scale.”
Barbarian–Cregger’s debut solo outing as a writer/director–topped the domestic box office during its opening weekend last fall, and went on to earn more than $45 million worldwide on a $4.5-million budget.
