Pedro Pascal Reportedly Drops Out Of New Line’s ‘Weapons’

by Thomas Tuna

Something had to give.

Weapons–an upcoming horror entry from New Line Cinema–reportedly hit a snag this week, as star Pedro Pascal has been forced to leave the project, according to a report coming from Jeff Sneider.

Pascal apparently will have to leave the film from writer/director Zach Cregger (Barbarian) due to scheduling constraints. He not only is slated to start shooting Season 2 of the HBO hit series The Last of Us next month, but he reportedly also will portray Reed Richards in the upcoming Marvel Fantastic Four feature, a film that’s expected to start filming in late spring.

Renate Reinsve (The Worst Person in the World) had been announced as Pascal’s co-star, and no word was dropped as to her status in the film. And no release window has been revealed.

The film–produced by Cregger, Roy Lee, J.D. Lifshitz, Rahael Margules and Miri Yoon–is said to be a “horror epic in the vein of Magnolia” that deals with the disappearance of high school students in a small town.
