Pam Grier Joins ‘Pet Sematary’ Prequel

The baddest woman on the planet is headed to the fictional version of Ludlow, Maine. Pam Grier has signed on to the upcoming Pet Sematary film which is said to be a sequel to the 2019 from Paramount Pictures, according to a report from Variety.

We have been closely monitoring the updates pertaining to Pet Sematary as several cast announcements have been made over the past few weeks. Grier will join Jackson White, Forrest Goodluck, Jack Mulhern, Natalie Alyn Lind and Isabella Star LeBlanc.

Grier, who was a special guest at 2018’s CT HorrorFest, burst onto the scene in the 1970s and became known as the first female action star. She starred in many films that decade including Coffy, Foxy Brown, The Big Doll House, Women in Cages, The Big Bird Cage, Black Mama, White Mama, The Arena, Sheba, Baby, Bucktown and Friday Foster. Genre fans will of course remember Grier as the leading lady in Scream Blacula Scream, and as Commander Helena Braddock in Ghosts of Mars.

The 90s would also see Grier thrust back in the limelight as she starred in Quentin Tarantino’s Jackie Brown, John Carpenter’s Escape from LA, and Tim Burton’s Mars Attacks!
