“This is gonna be fun!”
Twisted Metal–a live-action adaptation of the vehicular combat video game–hits Peacock later this month, and the official (and quite violent) trailer is now here. Check out the video on this page.
The 10-episode, half-hour horror-comedy series–starting on Peacock July 27–is led by showrunner Michael Jonathan Smith. The impressive cast includes Anthony Mackie, Stephanie Beatriz, Thomas Haden Church, Neve Campbell, Mike Mitchell, Tahj Vaughns and Lou Beatty Jr. In addition, pro wrest;er Samoa Joe plays Sweet Tooth, with Will Arnett voicing the character.
The show follows John Doe (Mackie), “a milkman with amnesia who’s offered a chance at a better life, but only if he can deliver a mysterious package across a post-apocalyptic wasteland.”
With the help of a car thief (Beatriz), Doe faces marauders “driving vehicles of destruction and other dangers–including a deranged clown driving an ice cream truck.”
