by Rob Caprilozzi

As if hurricanes weren’t frightening enough, Paramount Pictures upped the ante by adding a killer alligator in the official trailer for their upcoming feature Crawl. The preview exploded on the scene and has racked up almost 6 million views in just over 24 hours.

Based on a screenplay by brothers Michael and Shawn Rasmussen, Crawl is directed by Alexandre Aja with Sam Raimi as a producing partner. The film stars Kaya Scodelario, Barry Pepper, Ross Anderson, Anson Boon, Morfydd Clark, and Annamaria Serda.

The official synopsis for the flick is as follows:
When a massive hurricane hits her Florida hometown, Haley ignores evacuation orders to search for her missing father. Finding him gravely injured in the crawl space of their family home, the two become trapped by quickly encroaching floodwaters. As time runs out to escape the strengthening storm, Haley and her father discover that the rising water level is the least of their fears.

Crawl will swim into theaters on July 12, 2019. Keep it locked to Horror News Network for the latest on this film.
