Deadline has a report that two horror series recently got the dreaded axe by streaming giant Netlix. October Faction and V Wars, both adaptations of IDW comic graphic novel properties, have been canceled after just one season.
October Faction follows globetrotting monster hunters Fred and Deloris Allen who, after the death of Fred’s father, return to their hometown in upstate New York with their teenage children Geoff and Viv. As the family adjusts, Fred and Deloris must hide their identities as members of a secret organization, and they quickly discover that their new small-town setting isn’t as idyllic as it seems.
Season one lasted 10 episodes and starred Tamara Taylor, J. C. MacKenzie, Aurora Burghart, Gabriel Darku, Maxim Roy, Stephen McHattie, Wendy Crewson and Megan Follows.
V Wars stars Ian Somerhalder, Adrian Holmes and Jacky Lai. The series follows the story of Dr. Luther Swann and his best friend Michael Fayne as they face the evolving crisis of a deadly outbreak that fractures society into opposing factions, potentially escalating to a future war between humans and vampires. The outbreak is caused by a combination of climate change and an ancient virus that turns humans into vampires. The freshman season lasted 10 episodes.
Stay tuned to Horror News Network to see if these series can manage to rise from the dead.
