‘Nope’ Breaks $100M Barrier At Domestic Box Office

by Thomas Tuna

It’s hard to turn a triple-play, but Jordan Peele made it look easy.

Nope–Peele’s third horror feature–this week topped the $100-million mark domestically, joining Get Out (2017) and Us (2019) in that rarefied air, according to a report on Collider.

Nope has yet to be released overseas, but the film now stands at nearly $120 million after three weeks. Both Get Out and Us earned $175 million domestically and $255 million globally during their runs.

Nope–written, directed and produced by Peele–stars Daniel Kaluuya and Keke Palmer as ranch-owning brother and sister OJ and Em, who try to capture footage of a UFO after seeing a mysterious craft flying over their ranch.

The Universal Pictures film also stars Steven Yeun, Brandon Perea, Michael Wincott and Barbie Ferreira. Robert Graf serves as executive producer.
