Nickelodeon Renews ‘Are You Afraid of the Dark?’ for Second Season

Deadline is reporting that Nickelodeon has announced a plethora of series renewals including one for Are You Afraid of the Dark? Matt Kaplan and Spencer Berman return to the series serving as executive producers with ACE Entertainment.

The synopsis of the show is:
A group of kids calling themselves the Midnight Society meet to tell terrifying horror stories. But their love of all things scary is put to the test when the real world starts to become as spooky as one of their tales.

Making its debut in 1990, the original Are You Afraid of the Dark? was a Canadian horror anthology created by D.J. MacHale and Ned Kandel which aired on both YTV and Nickelodeon. The series lasted through Season 7 and ended in 2000. The latest from Nickelodeon is considered Season 8 of the series.
