The Big Uglies are warming up.
Following close on the heels of recent reports on cast additions for the upcoming Alien installment, 20th Century Studios this week dropped a brief–but official–synopsis for the film, as well as a starting date for production.
The new film–directed by Fede Alvarez from a screenplay by Rodo Sayagues–is expected to start shooting in Budapest this upcoming week, March 9.
In the feature, “a group of young people on a distant world finds themselves in a confrontation with the most terrifying life form in the universe.” Simple…but it says it.
The assembled cast–so far–includes lead Cailee Spaeny, Isabela Merced, David Jonsson, Archie Renaux, Spike Fearn and Aileen Wu. Ridley Scott–who directed the classic 1979 Alien–is producing the new film.
