The sequel lands on Disney+ in just a couple of weeks–Sept. 30–and fans will see Bette Midler, Sarah Jessica Parker and Kathy Najimy reprise their roles in a tale that’s set 29 years after someone lit the Black Candle and resurrected the 17th-Century sisters–who were executed for witchcraft.
Naturally, the sisters are looking for revenge, and it’s up to three high school students “to figure out how to stop the witches from wreaking a new kind of havoc on Salem before midnight on All Hallow’s Eve,” according to the synopsis.
Directed by Anne Fletcher from a screenplay by Jen D’Angelo, Hocus Pocus 2 also brings back Doug Jones as Billy Butcherson–along with Whitney Peak, Lilia Buckingham, Belissa Escobedo, Hannah Waddingham, Tony Hale and Sam Richardson in all-new roles.
