New Werewolf Flick ‘Blackout’ Heads Into Post-Production

The first bite is the deepest.

Blackout–a new werewolf-themed horror pic–has been picked up by Yellow Veil Pictures for worldwide sales, according to a report in Variety, and a poster has been unveiled (check it out below) to tease the terrors on tap.

The film–currently in post-production after wrapping up its photography in Hudson Valley, N.Y. last fall–will start the festival circuit later this year.

The horror feature–from genre filmmaker Larry Fessenden–follows a fine-arts painter who “is convinced he’s the werewolf that is wreaking havoc in a small town every full moon,” according to the brief logline. Fessenden is following up on his vampire-themed Habit (1995) and his Frankenstein monster-inspired Depraved (2019).

The cast includes Alex Hurt, Addison Timlin, Motell Gyn Foster, Joseph Castillo-Midyett, Ella Rae Peck, Rigo Garay, John Speredakos,  Michael Buscemi, Jeremy Holm and Joe Swanberg.

Fessenden said he’s interested in “finding new truths in the classic monster tropes of my youth. The essence of each creature dictates the milieu of the film, and the werewolf is both out of control and regretful–so that duality shaped my story.”
