New Untitled Universal Monster Feature Adds To Growing Cast

The monsters get another playmate.

The new mystery Universal Pictures monster movie may not have a title, but the cast is starting to blossom, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Alisha Weir (Matilda: The Musical) this week joined Melissa Barrera of Scream fame in the film that will be directed by genre veterans Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett. The screenplay is being handled by Stephen Shields, with help from Guy Busick.

Little is known about the film’s storyline, but reports tease it will offer “a unique take on legendary monster lore and a fresh direction for how to celebrate these classic characters.”

One possible clue to the plot is that the project reportedly was once titled Dracula’s Daughter, and dealt with a group of kidnappers who abduct young people–one of whom is the titular character. So, time will tell what all that means.
