Death is different here.

Pet Sematary: Bloodlines–the upcoming small-screen prequel to the classic 1983 Stephen King novel–debuts in mere weeks now, and the official trailer dropped this week. Check out the chilling video on this page.

The film–the feature debut of director Lindsey Beer, who wrote the screenplay with Jeff Buhler–hits Paramount+ Oct. 6.

Based on an untold chapter of King’s original bestseller, the storyline follows a young Jud Crandall in 1969, who “has dreams of leaving his hometown behind,” but who discovers “sinister secrets buried within–forcing him to confront a dark family history.”

In the end, Jud and his childhood friends must fight against “an ancient evil that has gripped Ludlow since its founding, and which has the power to destroy everything in its path.”

The cast includes Jackson White, Forrest Goodluck, Jack Mulhern, Henry Thomas, Natalie Alyn Lind, Isabella Star LaBlanc, Pam Grier and David Duchovny.

The original film adaptation of Pet Sematary–directed by Mary Lambert from King’s screenplay–received mixed reviews, but pulled in $57.5 million on an $11.5-million budget.
