This is not all fun ‘n games.
Talk To Me--an A24 horror entry set for a theatrical release next month–dropped its second trailer this week, and you can check it out on this page.
The film–hitting the big screen July 28–is directed by twin brothers Danny and Michael Philippou from a screenplay by Danny and Bill Hinzman. The cast includes Sophia Wilde (You Don’t Know Me), Joe Bird (Rabbit), Alexandra Jensen (Frayed), Otis Dhanji (Aquaman) and Miranda Otto (The Lord of the Rings franchise).
Talk To Me deals with the party game craze of trying to conjure up spirits, with teenager Mia (Wilde) “looking for a distraction on the anniversary of her mother’s death and wanting to get a piece of the otherworldly action,” according to the synopsis.
When Mia and her friends get together for a seance with “a mysterious, embalmed hand that promises a direct line to the spirits, they’re unprepared for the consequences of bending the rules through prolonged contact.”
And, as the boundaries between worlds collapse, “disturbing supernatural visions haunt Mia–and she rushes to undo the horrific damage before it’s irreversible.”
Kristina Ceyton and Samantha Jennings of Causeway Films (The Babadook) produced the film.
