New Trailer Drops For Final ‘Hotel Transylvania’ Entry

by Thomas Tuna

The animated adventures of Dracula and friends (fiends?) are winding down in the Hotel Transylvania franchise, and a new trailer gives a glimpse into what fans can expect in the final chapter this summer.

The trailer (check it out on this page) previews the fourth and final installment of the popular series–Hotel Transylvania: Transformania–that is slated to hit theaters July 23, as reported by comicbook.com.

Plot details of the Sony Pictures Animation feature–a direct sequel to 2018’s Hotel Transylvania 3: Summer Vacation–have been kept under wraps so far, but it’s a good bet there will be more of the successful formula.

The series so far has followed the lives of famous monsters–very loosely based on Universal’s iconic stable–who live in the titular hotel, designed to be a place where monsters “can unwind away from humans’ prying and often prejudiced eyes.”

This new film–directed by Jennifer Kluska and Derek Drymon from a screenplay from Genndy Tartakovsky (who directed the first three films in the series)–stars the voices of Brian Hull as Dracula (replacing Adam Sandler), Andy Samberg, Selena Gomez (who also acts as executive producer along with Tartakovsky), Steve Buscemi, David Spade and Fran Drescher.

The Hotel Transylvania franchise–created by Todd Durham–has been a huge success at the box office, but only the 2012 original garnered solid reviews. The first three films have raked in a cool $1.3 billion at the box office worldwide on a combined budget of $245 million.
