“You don’t trust me. Hell, I wouldn’t trust me, either.”
The Walking Dead: Dead City--one of the highly anticipated spinoffs of AMC’s flagship horror series–debuts next month, and a new teaser dropped this week to shed some light on the storyline. Check out the video on this page.
The series–which spotlights the continuing adventures of Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) and Maggie (Lauren Cohan) against the backdrop of a post-apocalyptic Manhattan–will kick off on AMC June 18. Gaius Charles, Logan Kim and Zeljko Ivanek also star.
In the six-episode opening season–led by showrunner Eli Jorne–a ruinous New York City is “filled with the dead–as well as those who have made the city their own world of anarchy, danger, beauty and terror,” according to the logline. In this world, Negan and Maggie search for Maggie’s kidnapped son, Hershel (Kim).
In the show, this version of the Big Apple is “chaotic,” according to executive producer Scott M. Gimple. “It has its own cultures and its own warring factions. It’s a madhouse–and Maggie and Negan enter it and get swept up in it.”
