Netflix makes a killing.

The small-screen Netflix adaptation of the BOOM! Studios comic book series Something Is Killing The Children will now be handled by Baran bo Odar and Jantje Friese (Dark), according to a report on Deadline.

The two German writers take over from the prolific Mike Flanagan and Trevor Macy team, who were attached to the project two years ago. Netflix reportedly decided to go in a different direction with the property since then.

No details on casting, production schedules or a release window have yet been announced.

The Eisner Award-winning horror comic book series–from the writer-artist team of James Tynion IV and Werther Dell’Edera–follows the residents of a small town that’s plagued by monsters that eat children, focusing on a mysterious young woman who has the power to combat these creatures.

In the series, when the children of Archer’s Peak go missing, things seem hopeless. Children circulate stories of terrifying creatures that live in the shadows.

The town’s only hope seems to be a mysterious stranger–“one who believes the children and claims to see what they can see,” according to the synopsis. “Her name is Erica Slaughter–and she kills monsters.”
