And so, the adventure continues…

Stranger Things may be wrapping up its critically acclaimed five-season run, but the battle against The Upside Down looks to take a different form, as Netflix has ordered up an untitled animated series, according to a report on Deadline.

The new series–which doesn’t yet have a debut date–is being developed by Eric Robles from Flying Bark Productions. The main thrust of the animated series is not yet known.

Stranger Things creators Matt and Ross Duffer were enthusiastic about the new venture. “We’ve always dreamed of an animated Stranger Things in the vein of Saturday morning cartoons,” the brothers said in a statement, “and to see this dream realized has been absolutely thrilling.”

The Duffers added they “couldn’t be more blown away by what Eric Robles and his team have come up with. The scripts and artwork are incredible, and we can’t wait to share more with you.”

The Duffer Brothers will serve as executive producers of the series, alongside Robles, Shawn Levy and Dan Cohen.

The original Stranger Things series debuted on Netflix back in 2016–with stars that include Winona Ryder, David Harbour, Finn Wolfhard, Millie Bobby Brown, Gaten Matarazzo and Noah Schnapp. The story follows the residents of Hawkins, Ind., who are plagued by paranormal events and the alternate dimension known as The Upside Down.
