The new season of the FX series–created by Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuk–kicks off Sept. 20. Based on Danielle Valentine’s novel Delicate Condition, the story follows Anna Alcott (Emma Roberts)–a woman who’s convinced a sinister figure “is trying to make sure her pregnancy never reaches fruition, while the men in her life refuse to believe a word she says.”
In discussing her book, Valentine said “it’s essentially a horror novel about pregnancy. It’s a novel exploring not just the physical experience, but also the medical gaslighting that even modern, privileged women experience as they’re going through their pregnancies and the symptoms we don’t talk about for strange reasons.”
The season–led by writer and showrunner Halley Feiffer–also stars Kim Kardashian, Cara Delevingne, Matt Czuchry, Billie Lourd, Denis O’Hare, Leslie Grossman and Michaela Jae Rodriguez.
