Politics does indeed make for strange bedfellows.
Founders Day–a new slasher feature from Mainframe Pictures–has wrapped filming in Connecticut and is headed to a festival circuit premiere sometime next year, according to a report on Deadline.
The horror pic–directed by Erik Bloomquist from a screenplay he wrote with brother Carson–is described as a “contemporary murder mystery (with horror overtones, no doubt) set in the midst of a heated mayoral election on the eve of a quaint New England town’s tricentennial,” according to the brief logline.
The feature–produced by the Bloomquist brothers and Adam Weppler–stars Devin Druid, Emilia McCarthy, Amy Hargreaves, Catherine Curtin, William Russ, Naomi Grace and Olivia Nikkanen.
The filmmaking brothers called the movie a “whodunnit slasher” and a “mischief-laden, blood-soaked mystery. Founder’s Day is a slasher for the world we’re living in right now–and we can’t wait for the speculation on who’s behind the mask to begin.”
