The waters will run red next month.
Maneater–one more in a long line of shark-with-an-attitude flicks–will land in theaters (and on-demand and digital) Aug. 26, and it seems that this big guy means business.
The Saban Films entry this week was rated R for “violent content and gore.” Oh yeah, the filmmakers also threw in “language.” Understandable when a shark is eyeing your lower body.
The updated synopsis for the movie–written and directed by Justin Lee (The Most Dangerous Game)–asks an ominous question: “What better place to drown your sorrows than an idyllic paradise island? That was the idea when Jesse’s friends convinced her to not let a broken engagement stand in the way of enjoying her prepaid honeymoon.” Uh oh.
Yep. It seems “their sorrows weren’t the only thing going to drown on their trip–especially with a man-eating shark swimming just below the surface.”
Who gets chewed up first? Well, the cast includes Trace Adkins (The Lincoln Lawyer), Jeff Fahey (Lost) and Shane West (Salem).
