The screaming will start in earnest in less than a month now.
The new Scream–the latest entry in the classic horror franchise–lands in theaters Jan. 14, 2022, and the hype machine continues to roll out goodies. This time around, a new featurette spotlighting the newcomers (or new blood) to the series has been dropped. Check out the video, courtesy of JoBlo.com, on this page.
In addition, a special opening night fan event has been announced for Jan. 13. The fanfest–which will include a live Q&A with star David Arquette, directors Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett and executive producer Kevin Williamson–is scheduled for Cinemark locations nationwide.
Fans can grab tickets at www.screammovie.com or www.cinemark.com as well as at participating theaters. The event will be broadcast live on the big screen to more than 600 theaters across the country.
This Scream from Paramount Pictures–written by James Vanderbilt and Guy Busick–stars Arquette, along with returning alumni Neve Campbell, Courteney Cox and Marley Shelton. The newcomers include Melissa Barrera, Mason Gooding, Mikey Madison, Dylan Minnette, Jenna Ortega, Jack Quaid, Jasmin Savoy Brown and Sonia Ammar.
The original 1996 Scream–directed by Wes Craven–follows high school student Sidney Prescott as she is stalked by the murderous menace of Ghostface. This film raked in $173 million on a $15-million budget and spawned the franchise that has–to date–grossed more than $600 million worldwide.
