What a difference one word in a movie title could mean.
The highly anticipated sequel to last year’s Godzilla vs. Kong blockbuster has wrapped principal photography in Australia, and apparently now has an official title. And that title may shed a bit of light on the storyline of the film.
The Legendary Pictures film–which has been shooting under the working title Origins–will be called Godzilla and Kong, according to a Twitter post from the popular fan site Gormaru that spotted production wrap gear on social media. Check out the post on this page.

The new film is expected to undergo editing, special effects work and promotion build-ups throughout 2023, with an eye towards a March 2024 theatrical release.
The movie–directed by the returning Adam Wingard from a screenplay by Terry Rossio, Jeremy Slater and Simon Barrett–reportedly follows last year’s showdown between Godzilla and Kong with a new adventure that pits the two behemoths against “a colossal undiscovered threat hidden within our world that challenges their very existence–as well as our own,” according to the brief synopsis.
And now, with the new title–Godzilla and Kong–that logline perhaps makes more sense. Could the two iconic monsters somehow combine their powers to combat a mutual threat? But can these rivals bury the hatchet for long? Stay tuned.
The cast includes the returning Rebecca Hall, Brian Tyree Henry and Kaylee Hottle–along with newcomers Dan Stevens, Fala Chen, Alex Ferns and Rachel House.
