“We call him…Dracula.”

In less than a month, a new Dracula-themed feature--The Last Voyage of the Demeter--will land in local theaters, and now a close-up look at the iconic vampire has dropped. Check out the image–courtesy of Fangoria–on this page.

Javier Botet portrays Dracula in this Universal/Dreamworks horror film, which follows the doomed merchant ship Demeter which carries 50 unmarked wooden crates from Carpathia to London. And not all of them are harmless.

The film–hitting the big screen Aug. 11–is based on one chapter of Bram Stoker’s classic Dracula, and is directed by Andre Ovredal from a screenplay by Bragi Schut, Stefan Ruzowitsky and Zak Olkewicz.

In the feature, “strange events befall the crew–as they’re stalked each night by a merciless presence aboard the ship.” When the vessel finally arrives in England, it’s a “charred, derelict wreck. And there’s no trace of the crew.”

Joining Botet in the cast are Corey Hawkins, Aisling Franciosi, Liam Cunningham, David Dastmalchian, Jo Jo Briones, Stefan Kapicic and Nikolai Nikolaeff.

Brad Fischer, Mike Medavoy and Arnold Messer produced the film, with Matthew Hirsch serving as executive producer.
