The doctor is in.

The latest version of the Frankenstein monster legend is coming to life from Oscar-winning director Guillermo del Toro, and the image on this page shows the filmmaker and cast members celebrating the start of filming.

The horror pic–helmed by del Toro from a screenplay he wrote with J. Miles Dale–is aiming for an as-yet-unannounced debut on Netflix.

Based on Mary Shelley’s iconic 1818 Frankenstein novel, the feature stars Jacob Elordi as the monster, Oscar Isaac as Dr. Victor Frankenstein, Mia Goth as The Bride, Christoph Waltz as Dr. Pretorius, Felix Kammerer, Lars Mikkelsen, David Bradley and Christian Convery.

This Frankenstein–reportedly set in 19th-Century eastern Europe–will follow Dr. Pretorius, “who is tracking down Dr. Frankenstein’s monster, who is believed to have died in a fire 40 years before.”
