Someone call the midwife.
The Fetus–a new supernatural thriller–wrapped shooting over the summer, and is gearing up for release sometime between mid- and late-2023, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
The film–from writer/director Joe Lam–boasts a strong cast of genre veterans–including Lauren LaVera (Terrifier 2), Bill Moseley (House of 1000 Corpses), Julian Curtis (Are You Afraid of the Dark?) and Jeremy Rudd (The Cabin House).
In The Fetus, Chris and Alessa are expecting a child, but the pregnancy is anything but ordinary. The couple “struggles to learn the truth about the origin of their unborn child–a demonic entity that grows inside Alessa,” according to the synopsis.
To make matters worse, Alessa’s father has never approved of Chris and, “with a supernatural entity growing inside her,” she fears sharing the news. So, Alessa hides the news from her father, afraid he will “try to have her child sacrificed.”
Lam also produced the film, along with Joe Barbagallo, Karrie Hung, Yuke Li, Brent Trotter, Calvin Wu and Jeremy and Nathan Rudd.
