Looking at life through a mortician’s eyes.

Sybil–a new psychological horror pic–has started principal photography in Belgrade with a brand-new director, according to a report on Deadline.

Joanne Mitchell (The Outing) is sitting in the director’s chair, working from a screenplay by Dominic Brunt that’s based on an original story by Mitchell and Tracey Sheals.

The film–which stars Rebecca Calder, James Fleet and Sacharissa Claxton–is described as “a twisted tale of a lonely mortician and her macabre quest for the perfect family,” according to the logline. A mortician’s life can be a lonely one, “but there are always opportunities for love and revenge.”

The ensemble cast is rounded out by Rupert Proctor, Robyn Rainsford and Jay Taylor.

Mitchell praised her “extraordinarily talented cast and crew,” adding that she loves “the psychology behind the horror genre, and Sybil is a story that will make audiences squirm in their seats. I’ve been waiting to make it for many years.”
