Just when you thought it was safe to go into the woods…

Consumed–a new horror entry from XYZ Films–is heading to the Cannes Film Market later this month, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Check out the first-look image on this page.

The film–from director Mitchell Altieri and screenwriter David Calbert–stars Devon Sawa of Chucky and Final Destination fame, Courtney Halverson (Unfriended) and Mark Famiglietti (Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines).

In the feature, married couple Jay and Beth (Famiglietti and Halverson) take a celebratory camping trip one year after Beth’s cancer remission, but “find themselves trapped between a wild madman (Sawa) and a skin-stealing monster,” according to the synopsis.

Altieri said he “was excited about the challenges the script presented. Its characters not only have to face a terrifying creature stalking the woods, but they’re also forced to struggle with their inner demons brought on by true-to-life tribulations.”
