The new Cenobites have arrived.
The much-anticipated Hellraiser reboot–slated for a Hulu debut Oct. 7–has fans anxious about the new (female) Pinhead played by Jamie Clayton, and now several first-look images have dropped that show Pinhead and a new Cenobite known as The Mask. This reimagining of the classic 1987 film reportedly will have the iconic puzzle box fall into the hands of a young woman dealing with addiction–and who will now have to face the threat of the Cenobites.
The R-rated remake from Spyglass Media Group–directed by David Bruckner from a screenplay by Ben Collins and Luke Piotrowski–also stars Odessa A’zion, Brandon Flynn, Goran Visnjic, Adam Faison, Aolfe Hinds and Hiam Abbass.
The original Hellraiser–from writer/director Clive Barker, who adapted the film from his 1986 novella The Hellbound Heart–deals with a mystical puzzle box that summons the Cenobites, sadomasochistic beings–led by Pinhead–who don’t know the difference between pleasure and pain.
