At the recent The Game Awards 2017 in Los Angeles, Hideo Kojima and the team at Kojima Productions released an eight-minute trailer for the highly anticipated Death Stranding video game.  The trailer opens with the main character, played by The Walking Dead’s Norman Reedus waking up on the ground in the middle of a rainstorm. As he pulls himself to his feet we see that him and his fellow crew members have perhaps crashed on what could be another planet.  Tension mounts as the viewer sees mysterious enemies taking the lives of his fellow travelers. The trailer ends with the Reedus character holding a special package.

At this point there is no official release date or synopsis for the game. What we do know is that the game’s title Death Stranding refers to the phenomenon of cetacean stranding, whereby whales and other cetaceans are washed up on shore.

Joining Reedus in a featured roles in the game will be Mads Mikkelsen and Guillermo del Toro. Each of them has leant their likeness to the game with motion capture, facial scanning and voice performances.
