Viz Media delivered a slew of announcements to their fans via Twitter today. For horror fans, the biggest report was a Deserter: Junji Ito Story Collection which is slated to arrive in fall 2021. While the exact tales in the collection have not yet been revealed, we do know that it will feature Ito’s early works.

In addition to the Junji Ito Story Collection, some of the other announcements included a Demon Slayer manga box set, The Creative Gene, a book which explores the influences and inspirations that shapes Hideo Kojima’s work, Kaiju No. 8 Volume 1, Mao Volume 1, and Rosen Blood Volume 1.

Ito, an Eisner Award winner and master of horror, has produced incredible tales including Tomie, which tells the tale of a murdered girl who keeps coming back, Uzumaki, which tells the story of a town which cannot escape a hypnotic spiral shape, and Gyo, a tale which follows a couple trying to survive a horde of undead fish.
