New Clip From ‘Moon Knight’ Shows Monstrous Threat

It looks like Marvel is unleashing the monsters against the moon’s knight.

The much-anticipated Marvel Studios Moon Knight series debuts next week, and yet another teaser clip has dropped to keep fans glued to Disney+. Check out the video–courtesy of cbr.com–on this page.

This clip puts the spotlight on the show’s main villain Arthur Harrow–played with obvious glee by Ethan Hawke–and his mysterious powers. As the teaser shows, Harrow must have a supernatural connection to otherworldly abilities and creatures. Not a good thing if you’re Moon Knight or one of his friends.

The clip also shows the show’s reluctant (at times) protagonist Steven Grant (Oscar Isaac) and the (obviously) combat-ready Layla El-Faouly (May Calamawy) as they try to escape Harrow’s clutches.

Harrow–who was introduced in Marvel’s Moon Knight No2 back in 1985–was never an A-level bad guy in the comics, but the upcoming series seems to have given him an overhaul and upgraded powers.

The six-episode Moon Knight series–created and written by Jeremy Slater–also stars Gaspard Ulliel as Anton Mogart (aka Midnight Man). The show debuts on Disney+ March 30.

The storyline follows Grant/Moon Knight, who is plagued by “blackouts and memories of another life.” He discovers he has dissociative identity disorder “and actually shares his body with mercenary Marc Spector,” according to the logline.

To add to his already considerable travail, Grant must “navigate his complex identities while he’s thrust into a deadly mystery among the powerful gods of Egypt.”

The Marvel Comics character of Moon Knight–created by the writer/artist team of Doug Moench and Don Perlin–made his first appearance in Marvel Spotlight No32 back in 1975.
