The wind blew another one in.

The cast for Twisters–the sequel to the 1996 disaster flick Twister–continues to swell, as Anthony Ramos (Transformers) has joined the fray, according to a report on Deadline.

The film–expecting to start shooting this spring for a July 19, 2024 theatrical release–has already announced its co-stars, Glen Powell and Daisy Edgar-Jones. No character details for Ramos were revealed.

The sequel–from Amblin Entertainment and Universal Pictures–is directed by Lee Isaac Chung, written by Mark L. Smith and produced by Frank Marshall.

The original Twister–directed by Jan de Bont from a screenplay by Michael Crichton and Anne-Marie Martin–stars Helen Hunt, Bill Paxton, Cary Elwes and Philip Seymour Hoffman as a band of amateur storm chasers trying to deploy a tornado research device during a severe Oklahoma storm.

The box office hit earned nearly $500 million worldwide on a $90-million budget, becoming the second-highest grossing film of 1996.
