New Book Pays Homage To ‘Rod Serling’s Night Gallery’

by Rob Caprilozzi

December 16, 2020, marks the 50th anniversary of the debut of Rod Serling’s Night Gallery, a weekly NBC series that unleashed weekly tales of spine-tingling terror and suspense.  To celebrate 50 years, Creature Features, an award-winning publisher of high-quality art and pop culture books, commemorates the series with the new book Rod Serling’s Night Gallery: The Art of Darkness.

The 316-page book showcases the history of all 101 pieces of the memorable original paintings and bronze sculptures featured in the series, plus concept art and rare behind-the-scenes photos, presented in stunning detail for the first time in book form. As most horror fans may remember, the art and sculptures were part of the opening of each episode of the supernatural series, introduced by the legendary writer-host Rod Serling.

The book features a foreword by Rod Serling’s daughter Anne Serling with an introduction by the one and only Guillermo del Toro.
