OK, take a deep breath. Ready? Scream!
The latest entry in the slasher sensation that is the Scream franchise will land in theaters in less than two weeks now, and the hype simply won’t stop. Just a week after Horror News Network revealed two posters promoting the film, a new retro-style poster has appeared. Check it out, courtesy of screenrant.com, on this page.
This eye-popping piece of artwork–from Creepy Duck Design–shows (who else?) Ghostface holding his trademark blade against a moonlit nighttime background. Rivulets of blood drip from the image and the franchise’s catchphrase–“It’s always someone you know”–is emblazoned on the killer’s arm.

This fifth installment in the horror series–slated for theatrical release Jan. 14–is directed by the team of Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett and written by James Vanderbilt and Guy Busick. Set 25 years after a murderous rampage shocked Woodsboro, Scream finds a new killer wearing the Ghostface mask and “targeting a group of teenagers to resurrect secrets from the town’s deadly past.”
The R-rated Paramount Pictures offering brings back Neve Campbell as Sidney Prescott, Courteney Cox as Gale Weathers, David Arquette as Dewey Riley and Marley Shelton as Judy Hicks. The rest of the cast includes Jasmin Savoy Brown, Jenna Ortega, Mason Gooding, Mikey Madison, Kyle Gallner and Sonia Ammar.
The original 1996 Scream–from director Wes Craven and screenwriter Kevin Williamson–follows high school student Prescott as she is stalked by Ghostface. This movie took in $173 million on a $15-million budget and kickstarted the franchise that has already earned more than $600 million worldwide.
