New ‘Alien’ Entry Moves Ahead, Looks To Sign Lead Actor

by Thomas Tuna

The Xenomorphs are ready to bust loose.

The next installment in the Alien horror-s/f film franchise is building up some steam–with plans to start filming sometime early next year with its lead actor on board, according to a report on Deadline.

Cailee Spaeny (Civil War) is in talks to star in the 20th Century Studios film, with Fede Alvarez (2013’s Evil Dead) sitting in the director’s chair and Scott Free producing.

Little is known about the storyline of the as-yet-untitled film, except that Xenomorphs will be involved (of course), but additional details should be forthcoming shortly. No other casting choices were announced at this time, but studios executives reportedly are conducting interviews. No release window has been revealed.

With plenty of questions hanging over this project, keep reading Horror News Network for the latest on this new Alien installment.
