What’s in a name?

Director Fede Alvarez (Evil Dead) is breathing life into the next entry in the classic horror-s/f Alien franchise, and now his film has an official title–one that had been rumored for some time.

Alien: Romulus–headed to theaters Aug. 16–is helmed by Alvarez from a screenplay he wrote with Rodo Sayagues. The 20th Century Studios feature reportedly will be set between the events of Alien (1979) and Aliens (1986).

No plot details have yet been revealed, but the basic storyline reportedly will follow a group of young people on a distant world who find themselves “in a confrontation with the most terrifying life form in the universe.” Cue the Xenomorph.

Alien: Romulus–starring Cailee Spaeny, Isabela Merced, David Jonsson, Archie Renaux, Spike Fearn and Aileen Wu–is produced by Alien director Ridley Scott.
