Leatherface just got some new playmates.
The upcoming video game based on Tobe Hooper’s 1974 classic The Texas Chain Saw Massacre already had horror icon Kane Hodder on board to play Leatherface and now, three more genre actors have been added to bring the game to life.
The game from Gun Interactive and Sumo Nottingham–which does not yet have a release date–will also have motion-capture performances from Scout Taylor-Compton (2007’s Halloween), Kristina Klebe (Hellboy) and Sean Whalen (The People Under the Stairs). Details on the new characters were not revealed.
Ronnie Hobbs and Wes Keltner of Gun Interactive also dropped a few hints about the game itself. “You cannot kill the killers in this game,” they said in a statement. “This is strictly about survival. There are ways to defend yourself, but you won’t be grabbing a baseball bat to attack Leatherface.”
They added that the characters in the original movie were “normal people who were thrown into this traumatic, horrifying experience, so they’re not equipped to fight back. They’ve never seen anything like this. We wanted to make sure we played into that.”
The video game is described as an “authentic gaming experience based on the 1974 film” and an “asymmetrical multiplayer horror experience for PC and ninth-generation consoles.”
