Mike Flanagan channels Edgar Allan Poe–what’s not to like?
Flanagan’s next horror entry for Netflix–The Fall of the House of Usher–will start filming tomorrow, Jan. 31, according to a report on collider.com, and another cast member has signed on to the already impressive ensemble.
Flanagan this weekend took to Twitter to announce the addition of Willa Fitzgerald to the cast. Fitzgerald–a staple on such popular TV series as Alpha House and Royal Pains–is perhaps best known to horror fans as Emma Duval on MTV’s short-lived Scream: The TV Series.
The cast also includes such standouts as Frank Langella, Mark Hamill, Carla Gugino, Mary McDonnell, Carl Lumbly, Henry Thomas, Kate Siegel, Zachary Gilford and Robert Longstreet.
The eight-episode limited series–based on some of the most treasured works of Poe–is described as an “epic tale of horror, greed and tragedy.”
Flanagan–well-known to fans for The Haunting of Hill House and Midnight Mass on Netflix–will serve as executive producer of the series–and will direct four episodes, with Michael Fimognari helming the remaining four.
The series does not yet has a debut date on Netflix, so keep reading Horror News Network for further updates on The Fall of the House of Usher.
