Netflix has unveiled the trailer for their upcoming feature The Platform. The preview shows us a dystopian future where inmates that live inside of a dingy prison get first dibs on meals, leaving very little food for the prisoners on the lower levels. Paranoia and anarchy soon set in leading to high tension and brutality.
The official synopsis of the film is:
In a prison where inmates on high floors eat better than those below, who get the scant scraps, one man tries to effect change so everyone gets enough.
Directed by Galder Gaztelu-Urrutia, The Platform stars Ivan Massague, Antonia San Juan, Zorion Eguileor, Emilio Buale Coka, Alexandra Masangkay and Eric Goode. The pic won the People’s Choice Award for Midnight Madness when it first premiered at the 2019 Toronto International Film Festival. It was at the same show where the film secured a streaming deal with Netflix.
The film will debut March 20, 2020 on Netflix. Stay tuned to Horror News Network for more on The Platform.
