To sleep…perchance to dream.

The Sandman–based on Neil Gaiman’s award-winning DC Comics series–lands on Netflix Aug. 5, and clips from two different episodes dropped this week. Check out the official trailer and the two teasers on this page.

One clip is pulled from Episode 4, A Hope in Hell, and the second reveals something about Episode 8, The Sound of Her Wings.

The 10-episode series is led by showrunner and executive producer Allan Heinberg, who also contributes screenplays along with Gaiman and David S. Goyer.

The series tells of “another world that waits for all of us when we sleep–a place called the Dreaming, where The Sandman, Master of Dreams, gives shape to all of our deepest fears and fantasies,” according to an updated synopsis.

But, when Dream is captured and held prisoner for a century, his absence “sets off a series of events that will change both the dreaming and waking worlds forever. To restore order, Dream must mend the mistakes he’s made during his vast existence, revisiting old friends and foes and meeting new entities along the way.”

The cast is led by Tom Sturridge, Gwendoline Christie and Vivienne Acheampong–along with Mark Hamill, Boyd Holbrook, Charles Dance, David Thewlis, Jenna Coleman, Stephen Fry, Patton Oswalt, Joely Richardson, Asim Chaudhry, Sanjeev Bhaskar and Kirby Howell-Baptiste.

The Sandman comic book–created by Gaiman, Sam Kieth and Sam Dringenberg–ran for 75 issues from 1989-1996 and was honored with Eisner, Hugo and Bram Stoker Awards for its storytelling excellence.
