Netflix Looking To Develop Sequel To ‘Troll’ Feature

Could there be more than one of those in Norway?

The fan-favorite Netflix horror pic Troll became the streamer’s most popular non-English movie ever last year, and (predictably) a sequel has now been ordered, according to Variety.

The sequel reportedly will reteam director Roar Uthaug (Tomb Raider) with screenwriter Espen Aukan and producers Espen Horn and Kristian Strand Sinkerud. No casting choices have yet been announced.

The original Troll–based on a Norwegian fairy tale behemoth–goes deep inside the mountain of Dovre, “where something gigantic awakens after being trapped for 1,000 years.” As the creature approaches the capital of Norway, the problem is: How do you stop something you thought only existed in Norwegian folklore?

The film stars Ine Marie Wilmann, Kim Falck, Mads Stogard Pettersen, Gard B. Eidsvold, Pat Richard Lunderby, Pal Anders Nordvi, Eric Vorenholt and Hugo Mikal Skar.
