If it’s not real, it can’t hurt you. Right?
Netflix this week won a bidding war for a 22-page horror short story by Chris Hicks, I Am Not Alone, according to a report on Deadline. Plans are to develop the story into a major feature film.
Misha Green (Lovecraft Country) is on board to write and direct the movie, with Oscar winner Jessica Chastain (The Eyes of Tammy Faye) set to star. Green and Chastain will also produce the pic–alongside Simon Kinberg, Audrey Chon, Craig Flores, Scott Glassgold, Peter Katz and Kelly Carmichael.
There’s been no word at this early stage concerning other casting choices, production schedules or a release window.
The short story reportedly revolves around the mother of a young daughter whose life unravels when she suffers unbearable migraines that cause her to hallucinate and see strange creatures. With that, the woman is forced to defend her family against a threat only she can see.
