Deadline has a report that NEON has landed the U.S. rights to Brandon Cronenberg’s Possessor. Entertainment distribution label Well Go USA will handle the home release.
Possessor had its premiere at the Sundance Film Festical on January 25, 2020. The film stars Andrea Riseborough, Christopher Abbott, Tuppence Middleton, Sean Bean & Jennifer Jason Leigh.
The picture is described as:
Tasya Vos (Andrea Riseborough) is a corporate agent who uses brain-implant technology to inhabit other people’s bodies, driving them to commit assassinations for the benefit of the company. While she has a special gift for the work, her experiences on these jobs have caused a dramatic change in her, and in her own life, she struggles to suppress violent memories and urges. As her mental strain intensifies, she begins to lose control, and soon she finds herself trapped in the mind of a man (Christopher Abbott) whose identity threatens to obliterate her own.
“NEON is a hugely exciting distributor, and I’ve been eager to work with them for a while now. I’m thrilled they are taking on Possessor in collaboration with Well Go USA, who made production of the film possible,” said Cronenberg.
The film has yet to receive a release date. Keep it locked to Horror News Network for the latest on Possessor.
