Neil Blomkamp Teases Abandoned ‘Alien’ Film Mock-ups

by Lynn Sorel

Director Neil Blomkamp posted mock-ups of an ‘Alien’ film, that he has apparently abandoned, on his instagram account. He posted the concept art with the words: “Was working on this. Don’t think I am anymore. Love it though.” He described the work as “a mental stroll into the world Ridley Scott created.” The mock-ups included the characters Ripley and Hicks from ‘Aliens’, along with a spaceship, the Weyland Corp building and the iconic xenomorph from the Ridley Scott film. However, on the final picture he said: “maybe I’ll go back to it ….love the world.” Blomkamp directed the sci-fi films ‘District 9’ and ‘Elysium’. He is currently working on ‘Chappie’, a sci-fi film starring Hugh Jackman. You can view all of the mock-ups posted on Blomkamp’s  instagram account.
