NECA Rolls Out New Series Of Toony Terrors This Summer

NECA has unveiled its Toony Terrors Series 8 of tiny horror icons–a trio of figures that will release in August. Check out photos of the miniature Captain Spaulding, Vampira and Svengoolie–courtesy of NECA–on this page.

These collectibles–complete with blister card packaging and bonus cutout backdrops–include an alternate head for Captain Spaulding and a skull for Vampira.

Captain Spaulding–created by genre filmmaker Rob Zombie–debuted in 2003’s House of 1000 Corpses. Portrayed by Sid Haig, Spaulding also appeared in Zombie’s sequels The Devil’s Rejects (2005) and 3 From Hell (2019).

Vampira–TV’s first horror host–was created by actress Maila Nurmi. The campy character hosted her own series–The Vampira Show--from 1954-1955.

Svengoolie–a horror host originally played by Jerry G. Bishop from 1970-1973–led a TV show that featured horror and science-fiction films. Rich Koz took over the role in 1979.
