A new horror collectible from NECA will take your heart away.
A realistic action figure of The Miner from the 1981 cult classic My Bloody Valentine will be available in October (in time for Halloween) from the good folks at NECA, as reported by news.toyark.com, and you can check out the figure and the gruesome accessories on this page. Collectors can preorder the figure now for $35.99.
The eight-inch black-clothed figure–which comes in clamshell packaging–is fully articulated for posing, and comes with pickaxe, nail gun, knife and a very unique box of (not) chocolates straight from the movie. Eat your heart out.
My Bloody Valentine–directed by George Mihalka from a screenplay by John Bearid–follows some young people who throw a Valentine’s Day party…and wish they hadn’t. They get on the bad side of a killer in mining gear who goes on a bloody, murderous rampage. The movie stars Paul Kelman, Lori Hallier, Neil Affleck and Peter Cowper as Harry Warden (aka The Miner).
The film–which earned just $5.7 million on a budget of $2.3 million–has developed a large cult following down through the years, despite some less-than-flattering reviews. In fact, famed movie critic Gene Siskel wrote that the film was “dismal”, and called it just another entry “in that most depressing of film genres–the mad slasher-with-a-knife.”
