NECA Continues Its Ultimate ‘Gargoyles’ Line With Thailog

by Thomas Tuna

Superstition, swords and gargoyles rule once again.

NECA this week rolled out details on its next Gargoyles Ultimate Figure–the malevolent Thailog–as reported by news.toyark.com. Check out the dynamic action figure based on the Gargoyles animated series in the photos below.

The first figure in this line was the Gargoyle leader Goliath–as reported here in Horror News Network–and now Thailog, created with generic material stolen from the clan leader, will join the fray next February. Thailog, a polar opposite clone of Goliath, shares the Gargoyle leader’s strength and voice, but revels in inflicting pain and suffering.

Pre-orders are now being accepted for the action figure that checks in at seven inches tall–with extended wings, a briefcase (with removable cash), interchangeable hands, a pistol and a blast effect. The figure–that carries a price tag of $37.99– comes in a display-friendly window box with an opening flap.

Gargoyles–an animated series from Walt Disney Television Animation–featured a specifies of nocturnal creatures (gargoyles) that turn to stone during daylight hours. After spending 1,000 years in an enchanted petrified state, they are reawakened in Manhattan (having been transported there from medieval Scotland), where they serve as the city’s nighttime protectors.

The well-received show–which ran for 78 episodes from 1994-1997–gave birth to a video game adaptation and a comic book series.
